Impact Ambassador Steps in as FUTA’s SUG President-Unfolds Five Point Agenda

The newly elected president of the Federal University of Technology, Akure Nifemi Ibrahim aka AlutaP, has unveiled a 5-point Agenda for the students of the university during his tenure.  He made this known at his inauguration ceremony on Thursday, May 31st, 2018.

He emerged as the President after a keenly contested election that held on Thursday, March 22nd, 2018.Delivering his maiden address, Nifemi said “the purpose of students’ unionism is centered on promoting the best interest of her members via creating platforms and opportunities that will cause a great projection of the images of members academically, socially, culturally, politically and other pursuits of common interest”.

In order to achieve this laudable goal, he revealed that he would embark on the mission of creating platforms that will give room for everyone to exhibit their potentials that they may be a proud asset of the FUTA Brand.

Nifemi stated that the interest of the student’s body was a top priority for him. He also added that plans are underway to collaborate with management to alleviate accommodation and transportation challenges of students within and outside the campus and to empower them with entrepreneurial skills that will enable them cope in the labour market.

He stressed the importance of the union’s sole responsibility of bridging the gap between the management and the students.  “This avenue will be open to all departmental, faculties, organization and spiritual organization leaders on campus, “he said.
