Honorary Degree Conferred on Engr. Akin Odumakinde

Engr. Akin Odumakinde deservedly received an honorary doctorate degree from the Federal University of Technology, Akure on Friday November 30th, 2018.

He was conferred the Honorary Doctorate Degree in Industry and Production Engineering in recognition of his outstanding feats in the engineering profession, as well as his positive contributions to the growth and development in Ondo State and Nigeria.

The award which was presented at the 29th & 30th Convocation Ceremony held at the University main auditorium, had in attendance the Executive Governor of Ondo State and his wife, the Chancellor, Alh. (Dr.) Rilwanu Adamu, Pro-Chancellor, Senator Joseph Waku, Principal Officials of the school, other Honorary Degree Awardees, the Graduands (Masters and Doctorates) with their Friends and Families.

Engr. Akin Odumakinde while responding on behalf of the other Awardees, disclosed that on behalf of his company, he would donate a World Class Bitumen Research Centre to FUTA. He also announced an annual DeltaTek Group Prize to be given to the Best graduating Student in Engineering.

Governor Akeredolu was full of praise to Engr. (Dr.) Akin Odumakinde for his monumental and passionate involvement in the development of the State and its resources. He concluded that this award was stirred primarily because of Engr. Akin’s passionate pursuit for the development of Bitumen in the State. Other Honorary Doctorate Recipients were; Mr. Olusegun Aina and the Alani of Ido-Ani, Oba (Maj. Gen.) Olufemi Olutoye (Rtd).
