Impact Your World Day 2018.

Impact Your World Leadership Initiative (IYWLI) recently marked the 2018 IMPACT YOUR WORLD DAY (IYW Day) with a Career Empowerment Workshop from select schools across 12 Impact Leaders Club(ILC) chapters simultaneously in  Nigeria and Houston, United States of America on Saturday 7th July, 2018.

Themed “Picture, Nurture Your Future -The Big Dream, the ceremony by the Parent body (Head office) was held at Badore Model College in Lagos and attended by over 560 secondary school students, as well as academic advisers and career guidance counsellors.

The programme kicked off at 11am with a Career Empowerment Talk session on ‘Discovering Yourself & Choosing a Career’ and building a ‘Career Development Plan’. Highlights included a Career breakout session for the students by seasoned career guidance counsellors and facilitators on career clusters including Engineering, Sciences, Armed Forces, Computer Science, Arts & Social Science and Law.

The event which was geared towards enlightening and sensitizing selected senior secondary school students across all 12 ILC Chapters, lived up to its purpose by spreading career awareness which would lead to utilizing their capabilities and skills in a competent and efficient manner in different sectors of the economy. Using the theme “Picture, Nuture Your Future’, the workshop fulfilled its aim of providing detailed information about different career options and helped participants choose the career path best suited for them.  The students were also elated to receive educational gift items.

In his charge to the students, Mr. Joseph Baiyekusi, the Chief Operating Officer of IYWLI, said “there are two important days in your life, the day you were born and the day you know why. Through this programme, we are aiming to encourage you all, as young boys and girls to start taking the right initiatives,”.

Also speaking, the Brands & Communications Manager of IYWLI, Ify Oluku mentioned that the “Career Empowerment Workshop is very important as every participating student will become an ambassador of IYWLI and will help to raise awareness of career development to their classmates. Through the programme IYWLI seeks to unlock human potential and equip youths on making the right career choices based on their capabilities and skills”.

The IYW Day is one of the many year-round initiatives and activities organized by IYWLI to impact neighboring communities while also promoting a culture of leadership and creativity.
