IYW Alumni pay courtesy visit to the president of Impact Your World

The members of IYWLI Alumni paid a courtesy visit to Engr. Akin Odumakinde, President of IYWLI, on Saturday, 2nd July 2022.

The alumni members took turns in sharing their impact stories and extolling the President for the fatherly care, scholarships, and mentorship extended to them at various times.

Abraham Esedere, an alumnus of the Impact Leaders Academy (IL A) 2018 cohort, informed Engr. Akin that he received the  Vice Chancellor’s Special Recognition Award and the Award for Excellence and Productivity during his tenure as the President of the Impact  Leaders Club (ILC), FUTA. Also, he added that his reign as the President of the Student Union Government 2019/2020 academic session was impactful due to his learnings from the Impact Leaders Academy.

Also, Ibrahim, a pioneer alumni member and a forensic lawyer with a top financial institution in the U.S.A, shared funded scholarship and career opportunities for ILC ambassadors and alumni.

In his charge, Engr. Akin said our country Nigeria is going through a watershed moment in leadership and governance. Stating that crisis is an opportunity to re-strategize, he called for more resources to be devoted to new frontiers, adding that our alumni “ought to be at the frontline of development and formidable achievements.”

He commended the team for maintaining excellent strides and enjoined them not to rest on their oars but to continue networking and sharing ideas through virtual platforms.

Highlights of the courtesy visit were the presentation of a portrait of Engr. Akin for his 60th birthday, after that, the group photograph.

Mrs. Olayinka Odumakinde, Vice President of IYWLI, thanked the team. She emphasized that leadership training was one of the core mandates of the organization and promised that the board of trustees would continue to uphold its vision.
